WAITI is the oldest association for interpreters and translators in Australia.

The Western Australian Institute of Translators and Interpreters, Inc. (WAITI) was founded in 1975 as a not-for-profit entity run by practitioners, for practitioners. We are a professional organisation that furthers the interests of member interpreters and translators, and supports quality language services. To represent and defend the interests of our members, we focus on Western Australian issues and also contribute to national initiatives affecting the translating and interpreting profession.
