9 June 2017 – Interpreting for Migration Agents and Lawyers Assisting Clients – a WAITI/School of Law, Murdoch University joint venture

This is the third of a series of Professional Development workshops WAITI is organising in a range of legal areas in 2017. The workshop will look at the particular issues which arise in the area of migration, including interpreting before the Administrative Appeals Tribunal.

5 April 2017 – Interpreting In The Magistrates Court – a WAITI/Perth Magistrates Court joint venture

This is the second of a series of Professional Development workshops WAITI is organizing in a range of legal areas in 2017. The workshop is offered free of charge and will be conducted by the Deputy Chief Magistrate.

Date:  Wednesday, 05 April 2017

Time:  3:30 for a 4:00 pm start; duration: 2 hours. Arrivals later than 3:40 cannot be admitted due to security clearance requirements.

Venue:  Court 37, 501 Hay Street Building, Perth 6000. Participants are requested to wait in the foyer for security clearance.

Diploma of Interpreting NMTAFE

North Metropolitan TAFE is planning to re-launch the Diploma of Interpreting (PSP50916) in July 2017 in a range of Languages other than English (LOTE).

Languages under consideration are: Arabic, Dinka, Greek, Hazaragi, Hindi, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Mandarin, Oromo, Tigrinya and Vietnamese.
